How can I get 30 minutes of free transcription?

Every account gets a one time offering of 30 minutes upon registration. Just register and confirm your account and you’ll have 30 minutes of free automatic transcription to use.

How do I verify my account?

After you finish registration you should receive an e-mail with a link to verify your account.

Where is my verification e-mail?

Sometimes our e-mails do not get sent to the main inbox. Please check your “Spam” folder or similar for our e-mail. If you can’t find it, please reach out to us to get a new verification e-mail sent out.

Where can I find my transcriptions?

All your transcriptions can be found by going to your account page, then selecting “View Transcriptions”.

What does “Transcription Pending…” mean?

After you submit your audio it will show as “Pending” until the automatic transcription is finished. In the worst case this will take as long as the length audio file. If your transcription is still pending after this time, it is likely that an error occurred. If that’s the case your minutes should have been refunded. Please try uploading the same audio file again and let us know on the chat if you run into issues again.

Why is the transcription for my audio file inaccurate?

The results of your transcription will be better the clearer your audio is. We expect an accuracy of 80 - 90% on a clear audio. If there is a lot of background noise, or if people are talking at the same time, the transcription can have less than 10% accuracy.

Which languages do you support?

We currently support English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Czech, Romanian, Chinese (Mandarin), Chinese (Cantonese), Japanese, Filipino, Vietnamese, Arabic, Persian, Hindi, Thai, Korean, Urdu, Turkish, Hebrew, Greek, Bulgarian, Russian, Finnish, Swedish, Danish, Afrikaans, Amharic, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Indonesian, Malay, Bengali, Catalan, Basque, Galician, Georgian, Gujarati, Croatian, Zulu, Icelandic, Javanese, Kannada, Khmer, Lao, Latvian, Lithuanian, Hungarian, Malayalam, Marathi, Norwegian, Serbian, Ukranian, Sinhala, Slovak, Slovenian, Sundanese, Swahili, Tamil, and Telugu. Not all accents and dialects might be supported.

Which audio formats do you support?

We currently support mp3, m4a, mp4, flac, ogg, wav, aac, opus, oga, mogg, webm, and wma audio files. If you want to convert your audio, you can do so using Windows Media Player (Windows) or QuickTime Player (Mac).

How confidential are the transcriptions?

Since all transcriptions are automatically done by software, your audio files won’t be heard by any other person. However, the transcription might be used anonymised and without any link to your account as data in order to improve the software.

Can I delete a transcription or audio file?

You can delete both the transcription and the related audio file by going to your “Transcriptions” page on your account, then selecting the cog next to the one you want to delete. Select “Delete” and both the audio and transcription will be deleted. WARNING: This will permanently delete the transcription from our servers as well. Deleting a transcription does not refund you the minutes used.

Do you have a high-volume plan?
